Q

Can I schedule my backup server to automatically reboot itself?

I would like our backup server to automatically reboot itself every Friday. Is there a way to do this automatically? Can I schedule a job to do this? I think I remember using an icon to shut down Windows 98 using command.com-shutdown or something like that. Does Windows 2000 have an option like that?
You can add a Scheduled Task to the server to run a script that will provide this function. Open up Control Panel on the server and double-click to open the Scheduled Tasks applet. Add a new scheduled task and input a command to run. There's a simple VB Script that you can use to reboot the computer on this web page.
