Q

Can I use ADMT to migrate my current Windows 2000 AD and Exchange 2000 server to a new Win2k server?

I am upgrading my server to a new computer and I want to migrate my current Win2k AD and Exchange 2000 mailboxes to this new computer.

I am upgrading my server to a new computer and I want to migrate my current Win2k AD and Exchange 2000 mailboxes to this new computer. Can I use Active Directory Migration Tool to migrate Win2k to Win2k? What is the easiest way to do this? Thank you for your time.
If the system is Active Directory, you just need to install Windows 2000 and run DCPromo.exe on the server. The directory will be replicated to the new server. As a side note, the ADMT can be used to migrate all sorts of objects from AD to AD. Typically you would use it to migrate some objects between domains.
