Can Terminal Services be run on Microsoft Small Business Server 2003?

Expert Christa Anderson explains to a reader what is allowed when running Terminal Services and Microsoft Small Business Server 2003.

We would like to run Terminal Services on our Microsoft Small Business Server 2003. Microsoft does not seem to support this application on SBS 2003.

Can we run Terminal Services on SBS 2003? Are there any other issues that we should be aware of?

While you can use Terminal Services with SBS and can make a SBS server a TS License Server, SBS does not include Terminal Services on it outside of Remote Administration Mode. You'll need a separate box. Although this does allow Microsoft to sell more servers, it's actually a pretty rational decision. It's never a good idea to run Terminal Services from a domain controller and that SBS server has a lot of jobs as it is.
