Q

Can't use Windows authentication. Will anonymous authentication work?

I am developing a portal and I am using Active Directory to store the membership information. I am not able to give Windows authentication because it is an Internet scenario. Will anonymous authentication work?
I don't know enough about the application you're developing to be sure, but you can probably use the anonymous user account for authentication.

To set the anonymous user account to an Active Directory domain account, open the Internet Services Manager. View the properties for the Web site, and select the Directory Security tab. Make sure the Anonymous Access checkbox is selected, and click the Browse button to select the account you would like all anonymous requests to use.
