Q

Create text file of services running

Before rebooting servers, I would like to generate a text file of the services running, like the window that appears when you run the services.msc but in a text file. We have quite few services that are to be set as manual and need to be started manually and I would like to keep track of what to start. Is there a way to generate the services in Windows Server 2000 or 2003 as a text file?

You can use the sc command and pipe the results to a text file.

For example: "sc query > services.txt"
