Q

Do I have to install WINS for legacy clients to authenticate on my Windows 2000 PDC?

Can Windows NT computers authenticate/communicate with a Windows 2000 PDC?

Can Windows NT computers authenticate/communicate with a Windows 2000 PDC? Do I have to install WINS in my mixed mode domain for my legacy clients to be located, browse and authenticate on my Win2k PDC?
Yes. They will need to be able to locate the Windows 2000 machine and PDC Emulator roles, which means you will need to have WINS installed until you get rid of all of the NT systems or put the DSClient on the NT systems so they integrate better with the Windows 2000.
