Q

Getting IIS 5.0 to work with ASPs

What requirements are needed for IIS 5.0 to execute ASP or HTML pages with scripting code in them? We have two IIS 5.0 Web servers and neither one will allow you to connect to an ASP page.

HTML pages don't allow for server-side scripting so I suggest renaming any HTML pages with an .ASP extension. ASP pages should work by default. If you're getting an error messaging indicating that an ASP page cannot be executed, launch the Internet Services Manager. Now view the properties for the virtual directory that contains your ASP pages. Select the Home Directory or Virtual Directory tab. At the Execute Permissions drop-list,...

select Scripts only.
