Getting error message "modem not found"

I installed a modem on my PC, but every time I try to sign on to the internet, I get the error message "modem not found." I've re-installed the modem under wizard but I still get the same error. Where in Windows can I find the hardware information for this modem?

Check in the Device Manager. In Windows XP, just right click the My Computer icon, select Properties, click the Hardware tab, then click the Device Manager button.
