Q

Help troubleshooting memory issues with Win2000

I have 4096MB RAM (16 x 256MB DIMM) installed on my Windows 2000 Server (Compaq Proliant 8500). Yet the OS (Windows 2000 standard) sees only 3328MB as total physical memory. What happened to the rest of the 768MB that is exactly three memory modules?
As luck would have it, I recently wrote an article for SearchWinSystems.com on troubleshooting memory issues. Rather than rewrite everything here, check out the article at http://searchwinsystems.techtarget.com/originalContent/0,289142,sid68_gci1078245,00.html.
