Q

How can I find out what computers no longer exist on the domain?

I need to know if there is a utility or way to find out which computers no longer exist on the domain.

I am trying to clean up our Active Directory. I need to know if there is a utility or way to find out which computers no longer exist on the domain. In my Active Directory, it shows about 900 objects under computers. I only have 700 computers on my network. I need to be able to find the 200 computers that no longer exist.
You can obtain the information via scripting (ADSI). To start, you can enumerate the workstations using ListMembers.vbs from the Windows 2000 resource kit. I didn't have the time at the writing of this to explore writing a script to do what you ask ?- but will most likely try. Send me an e-mail to see if I got anywhere. Otherwise I would suggest getting ADSI Scripting for System Administration.
