How can I get system to prompt for network logon once VPN connection is made?

How can you get network logon prompts to prompt the user to logon to the network and run their kix32 log script, mapping their network drives through VPN L2TP authentication? Windows 95 systems work fine. Windows Millennium, ME, 2000 and XP will not prompt for network logon once VPN connection is made.

I'm not positive, but making sure the VPN and domain logons are different may prompt it. Forcing scripts to run requires the use of logon scripts via each user profile or through GPO (2000 and XP only).
