Q

How can I work around IntelliPoint 2.2 locking up with Windows 2000?

This Content Component encountered an error
I am upgrading from NT 4.0 to 2000. I have IntelliPoint 2.2 and it locks up the setup for 2000. I uninstalled it through add/remove programs in the control panel and deleted some other files that were in user profiles. Intellipoint still shows up in the incompatible windows and still locks up. Are there some hidden files that I might not know about that might be keeping me from having a successful upgrade? Please help!
The drive most likely exists in the HKLMSystemCurrentControlSet registry key. You could find it and delete it or upgrade to Intellipoint 3.1a.. according to the following article the Intellipoint 2.2 is not compatible with W2k at all. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;Q244479

You can get 3.1a at: http://www.microsoft.com/products/hardware/mouse/driver/drivers_pc31a.htm
