How do I create a logical partition on a Windows 2000 Server?

How do I create a logical partition on a Windows 2000 Server? When my system was set up, they created three logical partitions on one hard drive, c=5gb, d=25gb and e=45gb. I would like to take e and make three equal partitions for organizational purposes. Do I just move the files off of e and use disk manager then move the files back?
Yes, move the files elsewhere, delete e, create the new partitions, format them, then move the files back.
