People are writing whole books on different aspects of ASP.NET, so there's no hope that I can answer the question in this forum. The best place to get started is looking at MSDN Online. That will get you started with what you can do with ASP.NET. There are a couple of excellent books you might want to look at to get started (all are from Microsoft Press):
