Q

How to apply Group Policy in Windows 2000 Server Pro

I have problems applying Group Policy in Windows 2000 Server Pro. The clients are WinXPs and some Win2ks. I've already created an OU and set Group Policy in it, but it does not apply on the clients. Could you recommend a step-by-step procedure on how to do this?
The first thing I would check is to actually be sure the client users or client computers are the site, domain or OU where the Group Policy is linked. If it isn't, Group Policy will not apply. Another common mistake is that people try to set policy settings meant for users (such as "Prohibit Control Panel") and expect them to apply to computers. Be sure, also, that you're not doing this. Lastly, I would use the GPMC's Group Policy Results' feature. This will tell you what's going on by demonstrating which Group Policy Objects applied and where they came from.
