Q

IBM x225 server won't power off after shutdown or restart command

I have a new IBM x225 server with Windows 2000 server and SP3. It has shutdown problems--it gives a black screen and does not power off when I issue a shutdown or restart command. I have to manually power down the machine. Can you please help?
Try updating the system bios from IBM. Then perform a re-install (or an upgrade install) of W2K, then re-apply the SP and hotfixes. It sounds like a driver error, but once you correct the motherboard/power level driver, you'll need to re-build the system to use it.
