You've been misinformed. Windows 2000 Professional's 10-connection limit is hard-coded and cannot be changed by a registry setting. There is a setting that allows you to disconnect a file-sharing connection earlier than normal, which may allow more users to access the server than normal, but it is not intended as a way to work around the licensing restrictions in Windows 2000 Professional.
