Internet connection keeps resetting itself to a proxy server

For some reason, every time I reboot, my Internet connection (LAN) keeps resetting itself to a proxy server instead of auto detect. How do I make it stop?

may be a policy setting causing this to be reset at each reboot. There is a policy setting found under User Configuration | Windows Settings | Internet Explorer | Connection (in GPEDIT.MSC) that governs proxy settings for the current user. Disable all the settings in this proxy, reboot, and then try resetting your Internet connection parameters through the Internet Options icon in Control Panel.
