Is DNS enough during DCPROMO on the PDC?

During DCPROMO on PDC (primary domain controller) after upgrade to Win2k from NT4, I create DNS. Is it enough? Will it have the database for all the servers and clients' PCs and printers? I don't need DHCP for my NT domain upgrade to AD, right? Will the AD have all my user groups and users?

If you run an upgrade on a NT4 PDC, you will be prompted for a qualified DNS server or one is installed on the PDC during the upgrade. Either way you will have a DNS that the Windows 2000 systems will use to store dynamically generated A and PTR records. The Active Directory will hold all of the information about your computers, users and printers ?- this is automatically done during the upgrade process. DHCP is NOT a requirement for AD.
