Q

Is there a tool that will migrate an NT workstation from a workgroup to Active Directory?

I'm looking for a tool which will migrate an NT workstation from a workgroup (i.e. a local profile and local account) to Active Directory (i.e. the original local profile and domain account). We know how to do it manually, but with 1,500 times to do, it would be good to miss out some of the typing, etc.
Microsoft makes just such a tool, named (appropriately enough) the Active Directory Migration Tool. It can be found at www.microsoft.com/windows2000/techinfo/planning/activedirectory/admt.asp and also contains links to a detailed document on how to migrate NT 4.0 directory services to Active Directory: www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/default.asp?url=/technet/tcevents/itevents/ad/tnq20003.asp
