Q

Is there a way to deploy software through Group Policy for non-administrative users?

I would like to use Group Policy to distribute software in our network. Our users don't have the right to install software. When I apply the policy, the software doesn't install and I get the message in Event Log that administrative privileges are needed to install the software. Is there any way to use software deployment through Group Policy with standard users?
My next question would be, "What kind of file are you deploying?" First off, make sure the file is an MSI. Next, you should check with the MSI vendor to ensure this MSI file is ready to be distributed via GPSI (Group Policy Software Installation.) Not all MSI files can be delivered in this manner. Try this first, then get back to us with your results!
