Q

Is there any benefit to using dynamic disk on a standard workstation?

Is there some reason why I should use dynamic disk on a standard workstation? It certainly makes it more difficult to find a compatible third-party imaging utility. I understand its benefit when used in a server environment. Have you heard of this practice before? Thanks.
Generally not. Dynamic disk setups are only really useful in a server environment where you need to add more storage on the fly; they're not as useful or important in workstations, where they can only interfere with things more than they can help.
