Is this migration plan sound?

I have to migrate a NT 4 domain to Windows 2000 AD. I have two old servers in the NT4 domain -- one PDC, one BDC -- which will be replaced by two new Windows 2000 servers. I need to keep the netbios name of the old NT4 domain the same and also keep the old server netbios names the same. I intend to install a spare server with NT4 on it into the old NT4 domain as a BDC, promote it to the PDC, upgrade it to Windows 2000, down the two old BDC's and install the two new Windows 2000 servers with the same netbios names as the old NT4 servers into the new AD domain. Transfer the FSMO roles to one of the new servers and remove the spare server from the AD domain. I would very much appreciate your comments.

Just some minor modifications.

1) Down the two BDCs prior to upgrading the Windows 2000 server. This will allow you to have a backout plan with a clean NT 4.0 domain should you have to go back.

2) After the Windows 2000 Upgrade is done on the NT 4.0 PDC you created, you will want to delete the references to the old BDC's in the Active Directory before you add the two new Windows 2000 Servers with the same names.

After that, things should work out well.
