Q

NT domain has a naming character that in non-compliant with AD

This Content Component encountered an error
I'm planning to migrate from an NT domain to AD. My original domain's name contains a "&" character in the name. I guess this character is not valid for an AD domain name. What can I do?
Yuck! There is a procedure for renaming a Windows NT 4.0 domain ?- but it ain't pretty. Get a cup of coffee and read article #178009, Renaming a domain: Process and side effects. I would make an NT4 BDC out of a workstation and take it offline before starting the execution of the process in this article ?- just for the sake of a quick recovery. After this is done I would suggest waiting about 24 hours and then proceed with the AD upgrade.
