Q

NT4 domain controller and Win2k client compatability issues

I have an NT4 domain controller and multi-platform clients (NT workstation, Windows 2000 and Windows 98). The domain controller sometimes denies network access to some accounts through some Windows 2000 clients, but allows the same account access through other clients. The error is "cannot logon on because the NET Logon is not running." However, if I view the services, I find the NetLogon service running. Please advise a solution to this problem.
This is a compatibility issue between Windows 2000 clients and Windows NT domain controllers. Sometimes the communications between these two is not correct and results in the above error. I think there is a patch for Windows NT to help with this issue.
