Our old DOS communication software works on Win98 on COM 1/2 but not on Win2k

Our old DOS communication software works fine in Win98 on COM 1/2. The modem auto answers transmissions and receives data. Under Win2000, the modem will not answer the phone. I have tried the compatibility modes and also played around with the COM port settings in the device manager. Any ideas?

If it doesn't work, you'll have to roll back to Win98. Windows 2000 has very tight hardware access limitations and your DOS communications software probably violates the Win2k restrictions.
