Q

PDC won't demote after system rebuild

During an attempt to demote a PDC (primary domain controller) for rebuild, the system crashed. The server was ultimately rebuilt, and I am pretty certain that the demotion was unsuccessful as the second DC (domain controller) in the domain is still pointing/looking for the original PDC. I am trying to avoid having to rebuild the entire domain and want to re-introduce the rebuilt system into the domain, but have not had any success. My attempts to use LDIFDE to export/import have also met with failure. Any suggestions?
Promote a BDC (backup domain controller) to the PDC position. If you do not have a BDC, then you will have to re-build the domain all over again.
