Preventing Windows 2000 power users from installing software

Windows NT4.0 will not allow you to install software if you are a power user of the workstation. However, Window 2000 power users are capable of this action. How can you stop this in Windows 2000 and still allow the user to install printer drivers?

If you have a domain, try this. Take the user account out of Power Users. This prevents them from loading software. Then disable the group policy "Prevent Users From Installing Printer Drivers." You'll find this policy in Computer Configuration | Windows Settings | Security Settings | Local Policies | Security Options.
