Problems connecting to 128-bit Web sites after virus removed

I had a virus called Trojan horse Dropper SmallEU which was found by my AVG tester. It was fixed, but now I do not have a 128-bit SSL security on my browser. This prevents me from performing my online banking etc. How can I regain SSL security without having to reboot my system? My PC details are: Windows 2000 Pro, AMD 2000XP and 512 MB Ram.
Microsoft explains how to handle this specific problem in KB article: Troubleshoot Situations Where You Cannot Complete MSN Sign-up or Connect to SSL Secured (128-Bit) Web Sites.
