Re-establishing domain trusts

I have a child domain in another city that was forced to change its static IP. As a result, the trust between my main domain and my child domain was lost. How can this be re-established? It looks as though the DNS at each site were resolving the domain names to private IPs.

Break the trust then re-create it through Active Directory Domains and Trusts. Don't forget you'll have to perform the task from both domains; it's a two-part handshake activity.
