Removing IE icon for specific users

I am using Win2k for my lab machines and wish to remove the IE icon for all user profiles. Student profiles will remain on the machine and will not be removed after a pcrdist at logout time. Any suggestions?

If your lab machines are in a domain, you can use a group policy. Open the Group Policy editor for the domain and navigate to User Configuration | AdministrativeTemplates | Desktop. Enable the following policy: Hide Internet Explorer icon on desktop. If the machines are standalone, you can edit the local policy entries using GPEDIT.MSC.
