Q

Replacing a domain controller

I have a Windows 2000 domain controller that I need to replace. DNS is running. Although I have two other DNS servers, if I stop DNS service on this machine, most sites won't open and I get "page not found" and "cannot open search page" errors. What am I missing?
Your clients are probably being assigned a DNS number either through DHCP or manually. You need to re-configure the clients to use the remaining alternate DNS servers.
