Q

Restrict users from installing software

In our SBS-2000 Network, all users are added to the Domain Users Group. But due to a couple of programs (TimeSlips and TimeMatters) I have to add each User to the Power User Group on his/her local machine. Unfortunately, this allows the user to install programs off his/her local drives and from the Internet. How can I restrict users from installing software on their local machines?
Unfortunately, you've given them all they need to do just what you don't want them to do. The only thing you can do to prevent this is to use XP's Software Restriction Policies (provided your clients are Windows XP.)
