Stopping group policy processing until logon script has run

Is there a way to stop Windows XP Client from processing group policies until after the user's logon script has completed? This is required as there is an exe that runs in our logon script that lets the user choose some options when they log in, but as the group policy has already processed in the background, this exe has no effect until a policy refresh is performed.

You might want to make this a startup script. Then, normal user and computer group policy wouldn't conflict.
