Q

Sysvol folders and the netlogon share corrupted after moving sysvol folder

I recently had a problem with my first DC. I tried to demote it but found I couldn't because it was holding the primary FSMOs. The problem now is that the sysvol folders and the netlogon share were screwed up. So I copied the sysvol from another local DC (its replication partner) and created the necessary shares, but replication does not happen automatically now. For replication to occur I must initiate it thru AD Sites and Services. Is there anything glaringly obvious to you that I have missed? THe FSMO roles seem to be OK.
Moving the SYSVOL folder is an involved process. Go to www.microsoft.com and search on SYSVOL and find out what steps you overlooked.
