There are applications that chart this sort of thing from the client side -- some keylogging programs, for instance, track network behavior as well. A product like ipMonitor might be closer to what you're looking for, or Ipswitch's WhatsUp, which is also scriptable and handles many Windows 2000-specific network actions.
