I am having issues with VPN over ADSL. I have four offices -- three offices connect to the fourth. There are times when some users are connected and others are not. When I disconnect and reconnect to ADSL, only after three or four tries am I able to connect. It had been running fine for a year, but the problem just started. The configuration has not been changed. I called our ISP and they said they have nothing to do with it. Can I connect to my site without using VPN?
Your best bet is to run a packet sniffer like Network Monitor or Ethereal to determine how network traffic is being transmitted to and from your ISP connection, and if any packets are being dropped or otherwise blocked. You can also use a tool like NMAP or PortQry to ensure that your VPN servers or devices are listening on the appropriate ports.
