Expert Serdar Yegulalp responds to a reader question about the differences between Win98 & Win98SE.

What is the difference between Win98 & Win98SE?
Windows 98 was the successor to Windows 95, released in 1998 (as per the name). Windows 98 Second Edition (Windows 98 SE), was released a year later with a number of fixes. According to the article at Wikipedia, the changes included the addition of Internet Explorer 5, Internet Connection Sharing, Netmeeting 3, DVD playback, and many fixes for minor issues. As of this writing, 98SE is still officially a supported product, thanks to popular demand.
