What types of user profiles are used in Windows 2000?

Same as Windows NT 4.0. You have local and roaming. However, they are different in many other aspects. In Windows 2000 you can use Group Policy to control the profiles. The profiles are stored in another location (unless you upgrade). The profiles on Windows 2000 will tend to be much larger and serve as a focal point for applications (especially MS ones) to store application data, temp files and cached Internet content. The permissions on the folders are different as well.
