Q

Where can I find a step-by-step guide for setting up Active Directory?

I am qualifed in NT 4, and plan to upgrade to a Win2k server. What I am afraid of is the Active Directory. I have read some of the information regarding the AD, and I still don't feel comfortable that I can set it up. I need a step-by-step instruction for set-up. Can you please help in this issue? For your information we have a LAN with 40 machines using different operating systems, ie.. NT 4 WS, Win98.
A tall order. You should really try looking at the Microsoft Deployment Planning Guide. This is the closest to step-by-step that there is. There are a lot of questions to get answerd prior to making and instructions for the installation. The actualy steps of installation are really quite trivial - it is the planning and preparation that one needs to really spend the time on.
