Q

Where is the pagefile.sys file located in Win2k Pro?

Where is the pagefile.sys file located in the Windows 2000 Professional directory structure?
It is located by default in the root drive of the boot partition. That is the same partition as the Windows and the Program Files directories. It is a hidden file so it will not show up in Windows Explorer or My Computer by default.

To show hidden files, Go into the Folder Options applet (via Control Panel or the Tools menu of Windows Explorer...

or My Computer), select the View tab, then mark the 'Show hidden files and folders' radio button and clear the 'Hide protected operating systems files' checkbox.
