Why can't Win2K Pro log on domain with Windows NT 4.0 PDC?

Great problem: Win2K Professional can't log on the domain with Windows NT 4.0 PDC. Why not?
I'm assuming that you've done the typical checks. You can ping the domain controller. You can map a drive using the controllers flat name:
net use * pdcshare

Are you using WINS? Do you have more than one network segment? This can cause flat name resolution problems. Did...

you have any problems joining the workstation to the domain? Is the trust currently in effect? In Server Manager, is the icon for the desktop full color? You may need to remove and rejoin the workstation.
