Why is SQLServer.exe using 100% of my CPU?

SQLServer.exe is consuming 100% of the CPU on Windows 2000 Server even though there are no queries running at that moment.
You may have been hit by the Slammer virus. Please check your antivirus software vendor's Web site for information on removing this virus. Also, check the Microsoft security site for details on this issue.
