Why is access given to network drives with red crosses without any error message?

Why is access given to network drives with red crosses without any error message?

Since moving from NT4 on the desktop to Win2k Pro, I have noticed that some, but not all, network drives have a red cross going through them. If I double click the drive, access is then given without any error message. Why?

I'm not sure of your configuration or what systems changed. However, you may have an issue with client systems not being members of the domain.
