Will NT4 DNS service upgrade to Win2k DNS during DCPROMO?

Will the DNS service on an NT 4.0 server be upgraded to Win2k DNS during the DCPROMO process? And will it then be able to perform dynamic DNS functions and also correctly register the new SRV resource records? Our PDC is our primary DNS server. Our BDC is our secondary DNS.
That is supposed to work. Although, I have seen it not work several times. You may wish to create a temporary DNS server you get to do a zone transfer from the original DNS server. Then do the upgrade with the PDC pointing to the newly built DNS server as the primary. Switch it back once the upgrade is complete. You will have to configure the zone for secure dynamic updates.
