I have two Windows 2000 servers with Active Directory and service pack 4. I have noticed in the application log the following entry every five minutes:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Userenv
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1000
User: NT AUTHORITYSYSTEM
Description: Windows cannot determine the user or computer name.
Return value (1753)
The server's log in which this error appears is named FILES.
This error message occurs when your primary DNS server is unreachable or configured incorrectly. In the network properties control panel applet, adjust your DNS server settings so that they point to the correct IP address.
