Microsoft Certified Educator (MCE)

Microsoft Certified Educator (MCE) is a credential that certifies an educator is literate in global technology and can provide students with an education that combines technology and learning in the classroom.

According to Microsoft, the MCE certification is best suited for educators who are currently in training, are in-service educators or are faculty members at colleges that train teachers. The exam is meant to assess if educators have a thorough understanding of how to use technology in six different areas outlined by UNESCO ICT Competency Framework for Teachers.

These six areas include:

  • Curriculum and assessment
  • Education policy
  • ICT/technology tools
  • Organization and administration
  • Pedagogy
  • Professional development
