Microsoft Web Platform Installer (Web PI)

Contributor(s): Toni Boger

Microsoft Web Platform Installer (Web PI) is a wizard that simplifies installing Microsoft’s Web products.

Microsoft Web products include Internet Information Server (IIS), .NET Framework, ASP.NET and PHP web apps, Visual Web Developer and SQL Server Express. Use cases for Web PI include installing the latest versions of Microsoft's Web components on existing machines, deploying internal testing environments, installing Web apps such as WordPress or Drupal, and building reference machines to create images for dedicated offerings.
