QUESTION POSED ON: 01 February 2005
I'm getting the following error when running the Security Patch Sync package: "The program for advertisement CR120244 failed (Security Patch Sync)." The failure description was "Sync tool failed to download: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=23130 -- Error code: 193. Possible cause: The program generated an install status Management Information Format (MIF) file with a status value of Failed. Solution: For more information about the failure, refer to the documentation for the program you are distributing."

What is the problem and what is the solution?
