QUESTION POSED ON: 05 December 2006
I am trying to print a multiple image document in Adobe PhotoDeluxe Home Edition but I keep getting an error message saying "Not enough free space on the hard drive which contains your system folder to print the current multiple image document." How do I free up more space on the drive?

First check to make sure that you are indeed not running out of space on your system drive (usually your C: drive). If you are, then you'll need to delete or move some files out.

One common resting place for files that many people never know about is the %userprofile%/Local Settings/Temp directory, a hidden folder in your user profile that is often used as a dumping ground by many programs to generate temporary files. If you click on Start | Run, paste that address into the box, and click OK, you can open that folder directly and clean it out by hand (Edit | Select All, File | Delete). Just make sure you close any open applications first, because some of those files might be in use. The %Windir%/Temp folder is also another dumping ground of files that can usually be deleted safely once you close all open programs.

Another possibility is that this might be a spurious error that is generated in lieu of something else. I did some research and found that people have been having this specific problem as far back as 2003. One workaround which was confirmed to work for someone else was this:

    1. Open all the photos you want to print.

    2. Create a new, blank canvas and set it to the size of the paper you want to print on.

    3. Drag the photos into the new canvas and arrange them as you like.

    4. Print the new canvas as a single image.

Also make sure you have the most recent version of PhotoDeluxe—Adobe may have published an update for the program which can be downloaded from their website.
